Introduction to Huaiyin Normal University
Huaiyin Normal University is located in Huai’an, Jiangsu, a national historical and cultural city with attractive scenery, pleasant weather and many outstanding talents. It is a provincial university in the hometown of former Premier Zhou En’lai. It’s about 2 hours away from Nanjing, 4.5 hours away from Shanghai by bus.
Huaiyin Normal University has 17 affiliated colleges, which provides 69 undergraduate programs for about 20,000 full- time students and 10000 part-time adult students. In Huaiyin Normal University, there are 1085  full-time teachers, of whom 469 associate professors, including 137 professors and 297 with PH.D degrees.
 Huaiyin Normal University covers an area of nearly 1800 acres with the school area of 560 thousand square meters. In the library of Huaiyin Normal University, there are more than 2.09million books, some 2 million electronic-books and 2.85 million electronic journals.
Huaiyin Normal University has established friendly ties with 23 overseas universities, covering USA, England, France, Australia, Korea, and Japan. Over these years, more than 400 students pursuing double degree and exchange study were dispatched by our university to study abroad and our university has enrolled more than 100 the international students from Korea, France, American, Japan, etcand received nearly 150 overseas cultural students from 30 countries.
Huaiyin Normal University attaches great importance to the international platform construction.  As early as 2006, Huaiyin Normal Universities and Konkuk University collaboratively started a project on international and experimental class, recruiting student majoring in economics and electronic information. The primary education specialty program cooperated by HNU and Sam Houston State University has been formally approved by the Ministry of Education. The program has begun to admit 110 students with the first batch of 10 students have successfully gone to the United States. In January 2016, our university signed an agreement project between teachers and students with Jyvaskyla University of Applied Sciences in Finland. In October 2016, our university joined the "Sino-US personnel training program" 121 double degree programs.
 
 
Introduction to Huai’an City
 
Huaian City lies in the east of Plain of theYangtze-Huai Rivers, and the north of the Yangtze River delta.  Huaian is a part of China's eastern coastal economic belt, which is just about 100 kilometers from the coast of the Yellow Sea, accessing to a big billion tons port called Lianyungang port only 1.5 hours. The Beijing-hangzhou Grand Canal and the Huaihe River intersect in Huaian.
Hongze lake, which is one of the country's five largest freshwater lake also lies in Huaian.
 Huaian is an important transportation junction of Jiangsu Province, as well as the Yangtze River Delta.
With 2200 years of history from Qin Dynasty, the city territory has found the trace of the ancestors, which has been recorded in annals as  "Xiacaowan Culture" and “Qinglian’gang Culture”.
In the Ming and Qing dynasty, it is known as the "Four Metropolis" along the canal with Hangzhou, Yangzhou, and Suzhou. And it is named “ the capital  of canal”.
Huaian history was too large gathering of talents, military strategist Han Xin, Han Mei Cheng, Liang Hongyu, everybody heroine "journey to the west" author Wu Chengen, the national hero Guan Tianpei, "travels of Laocan" author Liu’e.
Huaian has a galaxy of advanced culture and talents , such as Han Xin, the famous great strategist; Mei Cheng, Han fu masters; Liang Hongyu, the heroine; Wu Cheng’en, author of Record of Journey to the West; Guan Tianpei, national hero and Liu’e, author of Travels of Laocan. Huaian is a hometown of former Premier Zhou En’lai. The city is known as the land of plenty. In the west, the Hongze Lake is known as "Sunrise bucket of gold". In the east, the Gaoyou Lake and White Horse Lake is known as fish, shrimp, turtle and crab.
Huaian is a new industrial city, with nearly 30000 various types of industrial enterprises.  In recent years, export oriented economy has developed rapidly, especially the taiwan-owned agglomeration, which has gradually been forming the domestic Taiwanese highlands after Shenzhen, Dongguan, Kunshan. The whole city has initially formed special steel, electronic information and chemical new material industry these three billion industry as the main body of the industrial system.

II. PROGRAMS:

Requirements: Senior High School Graduation Certificate. The school system is 4 years.
2. Undergraduate Program (Taught in Chinese)
Requirements: Senior High School Graduation Certificate. The school system is 4 years.
3. General Non-degree Program (Ordinary Training)
Requirements: No limitation for education background, Chinese level. Age is from 15 to 70. Good Health.
4. Short-term Program
Requirements: Foreign friends who are interested in Chinese language and culture.
Language Learning: Chinese language and culture learning
Culture Experience Activity: Visit Historical Sites, Understand the local culture of Huaian etc.
 
III. APPLICATION & ADMISSION:
Application forms are available by e-mail. Completed application forms can be submitted by e-mail or fax. Copies of passports are mandatory. The School of International Education (SIE) offers open/rolling admission to short-term students. SIE will also assist students with processing X-Visa(s).

V. ACCOMMODATION:

2. Foreign Teacher Apartment: An apartment for two students including a study, living room, kitchen, bathroom, facility necessities and free Internet access: 1400 RMB per apartment per month (Notes: 1400 RMB doesn’t cover Water and Electricity fees)
3. Foreign Teacher Apartment: An apartment for three students including a study, living room, kitchen, bathroom, facility necessities and free Internet access: 1800 RMB per apartment per month (Notes: 1800 RMB doesn’t cover Water and Electricity fees)
4. Campus Hotel: Standard room for two students including bathroom, shower, television,
telephone, air-conditioner and Internet access: 160 RMB per Standard room per day (Notes: 160 RMB covers Water and Electricity fees)
 
RESEARCH  OPPORTUNITY
According to the requirements of school laboratories, scientific research practice is available for International Students.
 
PART-TIME  OPPORTUNITY
According to the requirements of different departments in School, part-time job about administration or management is available for International Students. 
 
 
School Traffic (including from the airport and train station to the university)
Huai’an Airport Pick-up: 400 RMB.
South Bus Station/Train Station/North Bus Station Pick-up: 100 RMB.
 
2. From Shanghai to HNU
2.1 Take flight from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport to Huai’an Airport. Take the Shuttle Bus to Wanda Plaza, and then take a taxi costing about 8 RMB.
Also, you can take the taxi from the Huai’an Airport to Jiaotonglu Campus of HNU. The journey is about 40 minutes costing about 200 RMB.
2.2 Bus
Take the bus from Shanghai to Huai’an. If you get off at South Bus Station, you can take No.1 bus and get off at “清中”,then walk to HNU. If you get off at Central Bus Station, walk directly to HNU.
 
3. From Beijing to HNU
3.1 Take flight from Beijing Capital International Airport to Huai’an Airport. Take the Shuttle Bus to Wanda Plaza, and then take a taxi costing about 8 RMB.
Also, you can take the taxi from the Huai’an Airport to Jiaotonglu Campus of HNU. The journey is about 40 minutes costing about 200 RMB.
3.2 Train
Take the train to Huai’an. At the train station, take No.1 bus and get off at “淮安车站”, then walk to HNU.
Also, you can take the taxi from the train station to Jiaotonglu Campus of HNU. The journey is about 15 minutes costing about 20 RMB.
 
4. From Nanjing to HNU
4.1 Take Flight from Nanjing Lukou Airport to Huai’an Airport. Take the Shuttle Bus to Wanda Plaza, and then take a taxi costing about 8 RMB.
Also, you can take the taxi from the Huai’an Airport to Jiaotonglu Campus of HNU. The journey is about 40 minutes costing about 200 RMB.
4.2 Bus
Take the bus from Nanjing to Huai’an. If you get off at South Bus Station, you can take No.1 bus and get off at “清中”,then walk to HNU. If you get off at Central Bus Station, walk directly to HNU.
Also, you can take the taxi from South Bus Station to Jiaotonglu Campus of HNU. The journey is about 20 minutes costing about 25 RMB.
